Cost-Cutting and Restructuring on 2004 Agenda of Primorje

Ajdovščina, Feb. 5

The supervisory board of the construction company Primorje has adopted its business plan for 2004 which envisages cost cuts and the restructuring of the company and its affiliates into 25 "profit centres" at which individual management teams will be directly responsible for profits. The company believes that this will help control operating costs throughout the group. The goal this year will also be to make the best use of the synergetic effects of its affiliated companies. Primorje met its forecasts in generating revenues of a touch over EUR 169m in 2003. It also finished the year in the black, preliminary results indicate. The supervisors advised the management to focus its attention on searching for deals on foreign markets, as the construction of highways in Slovenia is coming to an end.
