Over 125,000 People See Kajmak in Marmelada

Ljubljana, Feb. 4

The debut feature by Branko Đurić Đuro has been awarded a Grand Golden Roll for having attracted an audience of more than 125,000 - a major success for a market of two million people. While Đurić got the Grand Golden Roll for his Kajmak in marmelada (Cheese and Jam), a comedy about a Bosnian immigrant and his Slovenian girlfriend, Metod Pevec earned a Golden Roll for his feature drama Pod njenim oknom (Beneath Her Window), which has attracted an audience of more than 25,000. The prize is conferred by the Association of Slovenian Filmmakers and the theatre company Kolosej Kinematografi. The Golden Roll has been given out since 2001 as a special acknowledgement for the most popular Slovenian, or Slovenian-produced, films. It is conferred to films that attract more than 25,000 spectators. Winners so far include No Man's Land, Kruh in mleko (Bread and Milk), Pozabljeni zaklad (Forgotten Treasure) and Kajmak in marmelada.
